STEP’s Food Shelf offers nutritious groceries to those facing food insecurity. With respect and care, we provide fresh produce, pantry staples, dairy, protein, and culturally relevant items to help individuals and families maintain stability during challenging times.
curbside shopping or in-person food shopping
STEP provides curbside food appointments to any individual or family in need of food assistance, as well as limited in-person shopping for participants enrolled in other STEP services. STEP offers both kosher and halal foods to support households that observe these dietary practices, ensuring that everyone has access to food that meets their cultural and religious needs. All services are confidential and delivered by our social services team. Clients can call 952-925-4899 to make a food appointment. Households may receive food twice a month, and up to two weeks' worth of groceries are provided per visit. In November and December, food appointments are limited to once a month. (Additional food provided during those visits.)
STEP provides other wrap-around services to those living in St. Louis Park.
Emergency food (nonperishable goods and some fresh items) is available to those who walk in or to those who cannot make an appointment.
STEP social workers welcome calls from school district personnel to address an emergency food need of students, even if the student resides outside of St. Louis Park.
